East Fork Lake Styled Elopement and Proposal — Madison + Cameron
Fun fact about me: I LOVE EAST FORK. I grew up in a tiny town only 10 minutes away, and I spent lots of time hiking and fishing here with my husband during our dating years. It truly holds a special place in my heart. East Fork Lake is one of those places where if you know, you know. But others just drive by and never experience the beauty of this man-made lake nestled in Bethel, Ohio. Us Ohioans are very blessed to have this gem of a spot on our land! There are truly so many little hidden gems to find at East Fork.
Madison + Cameron have been together since they were 12. UM SO CUTE. They got engaged in January of 2022, and have been patiently waiting to tie the knot in 2024. Since I’ve been getting more into elopement photography, I asked if they would be my model for this styled elopement shoot, and they said yes. But someone else said yes… Cameron! Let me explain…I remember chatting with Madison before this session, and she told me she’d been wanting to propose to Cameron this year since he had been eyeing a gold band. Madison told me he wanted a ring, too, to show his commitment for her since they weren’t getting married for another year. So, we made it happen.
Halfway into our shoot, I picked a perfect spot on the shore of the lake when the sun was setting, and asked M + C to read letters to eachother that they had written beforehand. This sparked a lot of emotion in these two, and that’s when Madison decided to get on her knee and ask Cameron if he still wanted to marry her!!! I love how untraditional this was, but truly such a cute moment in their love story. What a joy it was to capture.
Now that we’re new best friends, I can’t wait to see Madison + Cameron thrive as they head into wedding planning season now that they both said “YES” :) Take a peek into their gorgeous session, and the moment Cameron was surprised!
